Christmas is a time of giving – a moment to pause, reflect, and recognize the value of solidarity and social cohesion. Once again this year, we have chosen to support the motto “Donations Instead of Gifts.” Instead of traditional customer gifts, we want to help people in urgent need and support organizations that do remarkable work with great dedication.
To provide the most effective regional support, we selected four organizations that deliver valuable assistance to children, families, and people facing difficult life circumstances:
This initiative supports families who have experienced the loss of a child. Through compassionate grief counseling, discussion groups, and meaningful remembrance projects, they offer space, comfort, and stability during one of life’s most challenging phases.
The hospice provides professional care, respite, and a comforting environment for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. It is a protected place filled with warmth, support, and humanity, where families can spend precious time together.
This organization supports children with life-shortening illnesses and their families — both in ambulatory and inpatient settings — standing by them throughout every stage of the illness. Sterntaler creates much-needed moments of relief and ensures that families are not left alone during difficult times.
The Diakonie is committed to a wide range of social initiatives — from homelessness support to services for children and youth, as well as assistance for seniors and refugees. Their broad commitment significantly strengthens social cohesion within the Mannheim community.
The personal donation handovers at our locations were once again inspiring moments, showing how much gratitude and genuine connection can arise from such encounters.
In addition, we participated in the “Gift with a Heart” initiative organized by the humanitarian organization humedica. Humedica operates worldwide in disaster relief and development cooperation, supporting people in acute need. The “Gift with a Heart” campaign ensures that disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe receive lovingly packed Christmas gifts each year.
Our employees enthusiastically filled Christmas parcels — with toys, clothing, school supplies, and small surprises. The result: a car trunk full of gifts, ready to bring joy to children who especially deserve this attention.
