Aids for the WC

Aids for the toilet

Throughout our lives, we can all find ourselves in a situation where a simple trip to the toilet becomes a challenge. Older individuals, people with disabilities, or those with chronic illnesses often face difficulties in the restroom, depending on their limitations. Getting up and sitting down can be particularly problematic.

However, there is a wide range of sophisticated aids available for the toilet. These aids not only facilitate the use of the toilet but can also significantly improve the quality of life and independence for those individuals affected.

At Drive DeVilbiss, we specialize in bathroom and toilet aids, offering a diverse portfolio of products to meet the important needs of individuals with various limitations.

Aids for a Secure Restroom

Raised Toilet Seat

As we age, sitting down and, especially, getting up from the toilet can become very challenging. Our raised toilet seat support the process of using the toilet by providing different heights, making it easier to sit down and stand up from standard low-set toilet seats. This significantly reduces the risk of injury. The distance between sitting and standing is shortened, and optional armrests provide additional support. The seat area of the toilet seat riser may have cutouts to facilitate intimate area cleaning. This allows users to have more independence and safety when using the toilet. And most importantly, it ensures privacy.

To ensure the optimal fit for different body heights or mobility restrictions, we offer toilet seat risers in various heights. It's important to note that the toilet seat should neither be too high nor too low. The feet should not be dangling in the air, as this can compress blood vessels. If the seat is too low, it won't provide the desired relief.

Toilet Support Frame

toilet support frame is a multifunctional device that serves as a toilet aid for standing up, a portable toilet, and a toilet riser. It can be placed on top of a standard toilet, providing additional support during toilet use and when getting up. Additionally, it can be used as a mobile toilet by using the included bucket, allowing for toilet use in a different location if necessary.

The frame is adjustable in height with seven different levels, allowing for precise customization to the desired height.

Commode

commode, featuring a removable seat, offers several advantages, such as flexibility in cleaning and maintenance. The toilet chair is equipped with sturdy and padded armrests as well as a backrest to ensure comfort and safety. The chair's bucket has an odor seal, allowing for particularly hygienic and easy cleaning. The seat height of the commode can be adjusted in six different levels, while the chair's rubber feet ensure non-slip and secure use.

Wheeled Commode

wheeled commode provides a flexible solution for individuals with limited mobility in their daily lives. A removable bucket with a lid ensures hygiene and is easy and quick to clean. Without the bucket, the toilet wheelchair can be positioned over the toilet bowl. Additionally, there are multifunctional toilet wheelchairs available that can also be used as mobile shower chairs, providing additional versatility.

For shower wheelchairs/wheeled commodes, we also offer variants with large 24-inch drive wheels and hand rims, as well as an XL version with a weight capacity of up to 200 kg.

Grab Bars

We offer various types of grab bars that can assist with getting up from the toilet.

  • For smooth surfaces, there are suction cup grab bars that can be attached without drilling holes in the wall.

  • Folding safety grab bars are installed on both sides of the toilet and can be folded up when not in use. They provide an additional safety measure.

Grab bars can also be used in combination with other toilet aids to provide additional support.

At Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, we believe that grab bars should be present in every bathroom as they play an important role in enhancing safety, particularly for seniors and individuals with limited mobility. Once installed, grab bars are often utilized by other family members as well.

Installation of raised toilet seats

Many people are deterred by the installation of a raised toilet seat. We want to alleviate this concern because all our toilet seat risers can be installed without the need for tools.

For those who prefer even more convenience, we recommend our TSE 120 Plus or TSE 150 Plus.

These two raised toilet seats come with an innovative top-mounting system. This is especially helpful if you have limited space behind and beside the toilet seat or if you prefer not to kneel on the floor during installation.

Everything completely natural

We respect the privacy and comfort of our fellow human beings. That's why we offer numerous aids that ensure safety in the bathroom and toilet. These are the places where we humans prefer to maintain our privacy for as long as possible.

Nevertheless, it is important for us to emphasize that going to the toilet is completely normal and natural, and there is no reason to be ashamed of it. Every one of us, young or old, rich or poor, has this need and must attend to it several times a day. We can all work towards normalizing our attitude towards toilet activities and removing the stigma around the restroom. By doing so, we would make it easier for many people to overcome the hurdle.
